Training & Engagement
This pillar embodies the principle that critical action begins with critical thought. We create spaces for learning and dialogue that strengthen relational skills and broaden perspectives across scientific communities. Grounded in intersectionality, our talks and hands-on activities engage participants with practical tools and reflexive exercises that foster critical awareness, perspective-taking, and collaboration. Our tailored approach supports students, researchers, and staff in building work environments that are more inclusive, connected, and socially responsive.

Foundations Series
The Foundations Series offers a set of interactive lectures that introduce the key critical theories and concepts underpinning intersectional approaches to science. Each session blends theory and practice to strengthen participants’ capacity for critical reflexivity and collective sense-making. Through engaging discussions and real-world examples, we explore how “big words” like power, culture, identity, objectivity, meritocracy and privilege shape scientific knowledge and participation.
Designed for students, researchers, and institutional leaders, the series builds shared language and understanding, creating the intellectual foundations for more equitable and transformative research and education practices.
Please note: delivered in-person or virtually, this service scales from one 45-minute session to an extended, multi-session series, ensuring flexibility and relevance for participants.

Action Studio
The Action Studio offers interactive workshops where we facilitate participants to move from intellectual insight to critical action. Through hands-on activities, collaborative exercises, and real-world scenarios, we support students, researchers, and staff in applying intersectional frameworks to address their own concrete, everyday challenges.
These sessions foster problem-solving, critical thinking, and inclusive collaboration, giving participants the tools to experiment, iterate, and implement strategies that strengthen equity, participation, and reflexivity within research and educational environments. Our workshops turn knowledge into practice, empowering people to create meaningful, sustainable, and real change in their daily work.
Please note: our in-person, immersive workshops range from focused 45-minute session to half-day, full-day or two-day intensive formats.
